What Causes Vomiting, Diarrhea And Abdominal Pain?

I think I may have the flu but wanted to make sure it isn t something else I began vomiting and had the diarrhea along with abdominal pain off and on all day Thursday and throughout the night. I felt ok but not great Fri and Sat. but Sun started feeling better. Today I am vomiting and have the diarrhea again. I can t even keep water down. Stomach cramps slight fever. 99.5. I really cant afford to go to the Dr. Thanks!

Hello,

The symptoms you have mentioned are highly suggestive of food poisoning. As you said you felt better for a day and the symptoms started again.

First of all, with continuous vomiting and diarrhoea, you will lose water from the body and this will result in dehydration which is not good.

For fever, you can take paracetamol tablet standard dose and for vomiting, I would suggest you take ondansetron tablet that's available in the market for adults as per the required dose.

For diarrhoea tablet, Norflox TZ is what I would recommend you twice a day for 2-3 days at least.

And take oral fluids with a regular interval to keep yourself hydrated. Keep a check on the fever and also it will be better if you have some family member or a friend to take care of you now.

As you said you are not even able to retain water that you are drinking and continuously vomiting, I doubt these oral medicines will help.

So the best advice I could give you for your situation is to visit the ER because you might need IV medicines and fluids to bring you back to normal state.
