What Causes Vomiting And Diarrhoea While On Gluten Food?
Hi My daughter, she is 28, is having a bowel biopsy to confirm she has caeliac disease next Wednesday. She was to eat 4 slices of bread per day for 4 weeks but unfortunately she couldn t this because she was violently ill with vomiting and diarrhoea as well as bloating and lethargy. She has been advised to eat gluten for 1 week before which she has started and she now has the vomiting and diarrhoea. What can we do to relieve these symptoms for the next week? She has been eating gluten free for the last 5 years after and initial bowel biopsy which was inconclusive. She has had relevant blood tests and genetic testing which revealed 2 genetic dificiencies. This seems to be a very cruel way to get an official diagnosis when she has been well for the last 5 years on a gf diet.
Hi I had gone through the question and understand your concern. See , vomiting is caused by indigestion of gluten containing food , and diarrhoea is caused by intestinal irritation as gluten containing food passes through it , decreasing the time for which food stays in intestine and get absorbed. Hope this information helps. Thank you.
