What Causes Vomiting Along With Diarrhoea In A 6 Year Old Girl?

My 6yr old daughter has had diarrhea, some vomiting, but no fever for the past 2 days. Today, the diarrhea and vomiting has stopped, but she now has a fever 99.7 and abdominal discomfort , mostly on the left side..should I take her to urgent care, or let the fever fight the bug?? When should I take her in, what should I look for?

Hello,

It can be from infection and since being a child it can be from helminthic infestation as well.

These are typical signs of infection. You first feed give her antibiotic coverage of Amoxicillin syrup, paracetamol syrup for 5 days.

She will relieve. However, if symptoms continue then take her to the emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
