What Causes Voice Loss After Quitting Smoking?

Hello , so i stopped smoking 3 weeks ago , and a week ago i completely lost my voice . I have been at home now for 5 days and it still isn't going away. Will it stay like that forever ? Do i need to stay at home longerr or will it go away with time ?? Pleasee help ! I dont want to stay like this .

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Congrats on stopping smoking, that can be difficult to do but definitely worth it.

Your voice will return. You need to rest it as much as possible, when speaking speak softly, don't whisper. Whispering actually puts a strain on the voice.

The use of a humidifier may help as well along with using fluids and , in some cases, honey.
If you have post nasal drip of mucus then a cough suppressant would be helpful as well.
