What Causes Visualizing Green Colour In The Left Eye After A Neck Injury?

My daughter was in a car accident two weeks ago. The vehicle she was in was rear ended. The ER determined her neck pain was due to strained ligaments and muscles. i took her to a chiropractor and X-rays showed her atlas was out and she has one disk in the lower neck that is out of alignment (twisted slightly). Her atlas has been adjusted and is receiving other adjustments. Her focus and concentration has returned. Today she said everything looks light green in her left eye. That s the same side of her neck injury. What would cause this?

Hello,

Thank you for your question and I am sorry to hear your daughter was in a car accident two weeks ago. I am happy to hear that after adjusting the atlas her focus and concentration has returned.

The issue regarding vision and color change in the vision of her left eye is a fairly common problem after a mild head injury such as whiplash injury from a minor car accident.

The symptoms are varied and you might have trouble focusing your eyes when switching your gaze between near and far objects.

In most people, symptoms occur within the first seven to 10 days and go away within three months.

Sometimes they can persist for a year or more. They can result from traumatic cervical spine syndrome.

Eye symptoms such eye pain due to trigeminal nerve stimulation, eye movement disorder (double vision) caused by oculomotor nerve disorders, visual deficit due to optic nerve disorders, and blepharoptosis (abnormal low lying upper eyelid margin with the eye in primary gaze) due to sympathetic nervous system disorders are present.

Severe brain concussions can cause blindness and double vision. If symptoms do no improve you should go back to see a doctor as the further examination is needed to provide the right treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
