What Causes Vertigo And Tinnitus After An Asthma Attack?

I m a 61 yo female, with history of asthma (over 30 years). Recently, after a severe asthma attack & ICU stay, developed Meniere s Diease - vertigo, tinnitus etc. Prescribed B12 (500 mcg) and Betahistine (Betanor - 24 mg) per day. On medication for 10 weeks plus. Over the last week, having runny nose, sneezing , general tiredness and frequent bowel (5 x per day or more) movements. Stool is firm.Is this a) contra-indication of use of meds - B12 & Betanor b) a chemical reaction to use with NEULIN 250mg SR c) am i just paranoid? Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

It is very likely you are having a viral infection because it is less than 10 days ago you started with new symptoms typical of a viral infection like runny nose, sneezing, tiredness, frequent bowel movement, ect. I would say that it is important to keep yourself well hydrated and rest well this time and it should settle in a few days.

If the symptoms last longer than 10 days or earlier if you get any worse, you will need to have a visit with your doctor to have a thorough examination and determine the cause of your symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
