What Causes Vaginal Spotting?

Hi, yes I have gone a year without a mestral cycle sense January 22//16. I started spotting today, nothing heavy just when I wipe. I haven t been officially diagnosed with menopause, but I know that I am. I just turned 50. I tried telling my doctor s several years ago that I thought I was menopausal but they kept telling me I was to young. But my mother went through it in her late thirties early forties. My question is, is it normal to be spotting?

Hi,

No, it's not normal to have spotting after one year a sense menses due to menopause.

It's necessary at this stage to get a full gynaecological examination, pap smear testing done to exclude malignancy before you take it as a normal menstruation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
