What Causes Vaginal Dryness?

recently i had a papsmear and the result was i had inflammation and repair of cells. my ob prescribe albothyl 5pcs for 10 days. i insert it every other night before i go to sleep then when i woke up it goes out like a water it was clear and after using 3 i noticed that my vagina got dry and when i try to insert my finger i got some residue and its like a tissue paper that got watered and sqeezed. is it normal? is that residue inside my of my vagina will come out after the medication on its own? im just worried that those residue will stuck inside because of vaginal dryness because it sticks in the wall of my vagina

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think vaginal dryness has nothing to do with the infection or suppositories used. It has to do with atrophy and menopausal and perimenopausal state. Also it has hormonal relation, i.e. during estrogen low situations like in menopause or breastfeeding or when using estrogen receptor modulator drugs such Tamoxifen. You can use over the counter regenerative hydrating creams for intravaginal use to reduce dryness.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Best regards.
