What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During 9th Week Of Pregnancy?

Hi my wife is 9weeks pregnant.it is late pregnanvy also in 36.she is experiencing bleeding.we have examined through ultrasound and child is ok heartbeat seen.doctor advised complete bed rest.she has prescribed sustain injection and gel.what could be possible reason and how to stop bleeding completely.yeasterday she bleed little dark blood and slightly.please advise.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Bleeding during first trimester of pregnancy should be taken care as it may lead to miscarriage. The bleeding could happen due to insufficient progesterone hormone.
However, since the ultrasound report says that the heart beat to be ok, she needs to take absolute bed rest for a minimum period of 2 weeks as advised and totally avoid strenuous physical activity.
Injection and gel, which have been prescribed to take should be strictly followed as they supplement progesterone hormone externally, which will help to continue the pregnancy. Gradually, over a period of time, bleeding should stop and she might require an ultrasound scan in 2 weeks time during follow-up.
She needs to take healthy soft and easily digestible foods and drink good quantities of fluids to prevent constipation during this period.
