What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Drinking?

Within the last 4 months I have experienced very light vaginal bleeding the day after I drink alcohol. I first noticed this symptom after a night of heavy drinking. The bleeding was moderate and had stopped after 30 minuted or so. I got my period a week later. This has happened several times since, but the bleeding has just been a slight discharge and has never been as significant as the first time. Last night I had about 4 glasses of wine and yet again, there was a slight blood-like discharge. I just finished my period last week. I m 21 years old, 125 pounds and 5 4 . Also, on most mornings after I drink, I take an ibuprofen.

Hello,

There is no scientific reason that is found to be related with vaginal spotting or bleeding after alcohol consumption. However, there is evidence that alcohol causes increase in estrogen hormone level in female body which may cause spotting.

I would advise you to visit a gynecologist if this thing persists for a longer time. You might have vaginal infection, hormonal irregularities or some structural or functional anomaly in some female reproductive organ.
