What Causes Uncontrolled Hypertension After A Fall?

I normally have high blood pressure. But after a fall resulting in a concussion my blood pressure remained low (92 / 48 for example) for several days, but has begun to increase again. My question is can a concussion cause a person with uncontrolled hypertension to have hypotension?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have uncontrolled hypertension after a fall . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like signs of heart attack , stroke nd other heart related problem like fibrillation and atherosclerosis . But the concussion probably is not the cause for fluctuating blood pressure . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like ECG , complete blood profile along with vitals . Doctor may prescribe blood thinners , atorvastatin or may recommend surgery or pacemaker. For now do light walking and take proper rest , keep yourself stress free .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
