I had my tubes tied 2 years ago and last month I had my period TWICE and this month also.. The first time I have my period in the month I get cramps and heavy flow that lasts a week and with the second time in the same month I have a light period that s annoying.. HELP!
Hi there, After going through your question, I am of the opinion that: 1) There is a possibility that the light bleeding you have is mid-cycle ovulation bleeding called Mittelschmerz sign. 2) Sometimes, after tubal ligation, there is some amount of hormonal imbalance which can cause irregular bleeding. 3) Do not worry. This condition is temporary and will resolve itself. 4) In case it does not get resolved in 2-3 months, you might need to get an ultrasound done to rule out other abnormalities along with a pap smear and endometrial biopsy.
I hope this was helpful. Regards, Dr. Shikha Shah
