What Causes Twitching In The Left & Right Shoulders?
Hi, I have been twitching from my right and left shoulders down to my back. These have been going on for the past 33 years. Now I am taking 0.75gm haloperidol and lioresal 10mg, one every morning. But lately the twitching is getting worse. What can you advise? Name : Susanna Ng Wt/height : 49kg, 1.5cm Age : 50
It would be nice to have a video of this twitching that you've had for 33 years. Typically, we know that muscle twitching in the absence of any frank weakness or loss of muscle mass or tone in the affected body part can occur constantly and be a completely benign process. Having said that, it doesn't mean that it shouldn't be treated if it interferes or bothers the patient in some way. My approach to your problem would be to take the medications that you've already had good success with and slowly increase the dose of one of them at a time until either we get a clinical response or an intolerable side effect. All the best health to you.
