What Causes Tiny Bumps Causing Pricking Sensation At Corner Of Mouth?
For the past few weeks I've had these little bumps at the corner of my mouth. I've picked at them and they feel different from other pimples. Sometimes it feels like there is a small hair poking in it that hurts. I'm 66 yrs old and I rarely get pimples. This is different.
Thanks for your query .The symptoms you mention in query can occur due to various reasons like bacterial or viral infection , hormonal changes ,stressful condition or due to vitamin deficiency like vitamin B12. In you case the most probable cause is vitamin deficiency .
I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper evaluation and rule out causes like herpes ,neuropathy (due to condition like diabetes) or bacterial infection.Doctor may prescribe oral/topical antibiotics / antiviral depending upon your condition.
For now five cold compresses to affected area several times a day ,start vitamin B12 supplement , clean it with hydrogen peroxide solution and apply moisturizer cream.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
