What Causes Tinnitus And Pain On The Base Of The Skull After A Concussion?
I suffered a concussion and whip lash in October of 2016 after falling down a flight of stairs in which my head went through the drywall. I have had PT to help and seemed to be doing well except for tinitus. However, I am experiencing symptoms recently that lead me to believe that it could have caused more damage than originally thought. I have constant pain in the base of my skull and often feel as if I am cross- eyed dizzy (like a mild alcohol buzz). I am easily agitated and cry more than ever. I have an unusual high level of estrogen and am not going through menopause according to my doctors, but am going through a divorce and have a new job. These are definitely factors I ve considered, but this feels like a pressure on my brain and isn t always painful. I live in Colorado which has a high rate of MS which I m told has something to do either with the altitude or the population of women who move here to relieve symptoms of MS because of the dryness and calm summers. I am concerned about so many factors that I wonder if an MRI could help detect the problem. What can you suggest?

What Causes Tinnitus And Pain On The Base Of The Skull After A Concussion?
Hello, As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a neurosurgeon and plan for a repeat CT to rule out any residual head injury or fracture. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
