What Causes Tightness In The Chest After Smoking?

Hi I ve recently had flu like symptoms for nearly a month with an initial severe cough producing lots of phlegm. However antibitrcleared the cough up but not the fever, chills etc. A week into recovery i smoked a cigarette and all my symptoms reoccured. Now i feel like like my chest is super tight and in pain for the last 4 days and heavily inflamed and keep getting muscle aches at night particularly in my shoulders and legs. What could this be?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi,

I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to a lung disorder.

For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam, a chest X-ray study, and pulmonary function tests.

Some blood lab tests are necessary too (complete blood count, PCR, ESR).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
