What Causes Tight Sensation In The Chest And Jaw After Taking Hydrocodone?

I just had a total hip replacement 9 days ago. I took hydrochodone ... 2.... together for the first time today. About 3 hrs later I began feeling tightness in my chest going up to my jaw and upper teeth. This was not severe pain by any means. I was sweating just a bit so I sat down and all subsided and nothing ever happened after that. I am female, 58 yrs old with a family history of heart disease at 61, fatal. I understand what this points to, but I find it interesting it happened after I took a medication popular for its indigestion side effects. What is your opinion please?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be an allergic reaction.

As of now, you can take drugs like cetirizine for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
