Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Recently, my right eardrum started thumping---like if someone was beating on a bass drum with one stick. At first it was just at night; now its also during the day. It is not consistent---it s random. Usually 3-7 times in a row, but random spacing. Might be fast, slow, or inconsistent beats....does not match my heart beat. Kind of annoying! Does not affect my hearing. Your thoughts?
Possible viral infection involving middle ear, inner ear or ear drum. Primary care with cotton plug application and do not let water to go inside the ear canal. Avoid any type of pin or sharp object insertion. Consult your nearby ENT specialist for further care after clinical examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
