What Causes Throat Acid Reflux Sensations, Breathlessness Causing Panicking And Coughing?
I was woken last night by throwing up acids into my throat. This is the third time in 2 months. It is such a scarey experience. I run to the bathroom and nothing comes out. I gasp for air and can not breath. This lasts for several minutes and it actually creates me to panic. eventually I cough some out and get some air. I do not drink and I do not eat late at night. I am actually afraid of it happening again. I feel like I am going to die alone in my bathroom in the middle of the night. Please help. Thank you, Sherri
You may be suffering from reflux esophagitis with aspiration induced asthma. You have to take the tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week.
Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Elevate the head end of the bed while sleep. You have to check for lax lower sphincter or a hiatal hernia by upper GI endoscopy.
Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
