hi, I am asthmatic and allergic to moulds/dust mites/ some animals. Prior to moving house and country I began singulair and since moving I am also taking xyzal antihistimines as allergy is bad. Im 46, had ovarian cancer and take hrt- premarin- with no previous problems. 4 weeks ago I choked on brown rice and since then have had a strange sensation in my airway/oesophagus- on one side. Its like a peppermint cool burn- not painful- just ticklish and feels like theres something there. when I bend forward now- its worse. It keeps me awake. i have no gastric problems and am not overweight or diabetic. I saw a GP- had two courses of antibiotics and oral steroids- no results. Im worried its thrush- as Im uncomfortable below since the antibiotics. I also worry its cancer-again- I will never be confident again after the last time. I have an ENT referral- but theres a long wait- meanwhile its very irritating- I cant swallow properly now and am coughing. Spicy food and cold/hot drinks irritate it. Could it be a strange form of GERD- from stress from the move or thrush or cancer?
