What Causes The Painful Movable Whelps Under The Skin?
Trying to find out about a condition that I have never seen before. Large whelps that are red and lumps under the skin. It moves around your body like from your eye to your cheek and then to your chin. I have seen the whelps appear in front of my eyes and swell up. It also moves from left arm to right arm and all other areas of the body. They are painful and they leave bruises or brown marks when the swelling goes down. It also stays swollen and red any where from a few hours to a few days.
Hi. As per your case history you are probably having urticarial vasculitis. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on affected skin. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
