What Causes Testicles Pain In Adolescents?
Hello, My 12 year old son came home complaining about his testicals being sore. I have my own theories but want to make sure its natural. He plays Baseball and is a high driver so, I m a little concerned. Weeks ago he had what we refer to as poop cramps so we took him to the DR. we all thought it was cause by eating dairy.

There are two things that are concerning, when a boy his age has sore or swollen testicles.
The first one is an emergency and is called testicular torsion. This is when the spermatic cord twists and cuts off blood supply to the testicle.
This is an emergency and must be treated as such. Sometimes it corrects itself on its own and can cause pain and soreness for a time after it happens.
The other thing that can happen is called a vericocele. This is when a blood vessel in the testicle gets backed up and causes swelling and sometimes pain. This is much less of an emergency.
If your son continues to have testicular pain, he likely needs to see a urologist and not a family medicine doctor or pediatrician.
