What Causes Tenderness In Labia And Constipation?

My labia feels tender, only when I wipe. I did experience constipation 1 week ago, due to iron pills which I have decreased. I had low ferritin level.. I m able to exercise, no problem. No other pains anywhere else. I m thinking I should make an appt. with gynecologist. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Pain over labia could be due to vulvovaginitis or thrush or rarely vulvovaginal candidiasis.

You can go for clinical examination by dermatologist and swab tests for microscopic examination.

You should take treatment like moisturizer creams or lubricants KY gelly ,use cool compression, wash genital regularly using sorbolene cream instead of soap.

Avoid using talcum powder, irritant soaps, bath oils and take pain killers like ibuprofen or paracetamol available over the counter.

For constipation, you should take laxatives like syrup cremaffin or looz 2 TSF at bed time.

If problem persists then consult skin specialist.

Regards,
