What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes After Dental Filling?

...just a quick question. I went to the dentist yesterday and had two fillings replaced. Now I have a little swelling and tenderness in the gland under my jaw. I did not have this swelling/tenderness yesterday after the procedure. Should I be concerned?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain regional lymphadenopathy or swelling and tenderness of lymph nodes is not seen in case of dental fillings and it is evident in case of any infection or inflammation..

If you have some pain in any of the filled tooth then there can be a chance that in any of the filled tooth the nerves and blood vessels got accidentally exposed causing inflammation of the nerves and vessels causing lymphadenopathy.

If it is not the case the lymph node enlargement can be due to infection in some other part of body like ear, throat, salivary gland and even far of parts of body and the lymph draining through lymph nodes when reached these lymph nodes caused infection and swelling..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
