What Causes Swollen Glands, fever And Joint Pain?

I developed a swollen gland the size of a golf ball, then fever of 103, SEVERE kidney burning in lower back area bilateral, achey joints, chills, weakness. Went to ER no strept throat, raised white blood cell count via blood work, MRI found no kidney issues. Still very sick with swollen glands and now red bumps all over upper and lower torso. Please assist me.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of an infection. Mononucleosis can not be excluded either.

For this reason, I recommend consulting with an infectious disease specialist and performing further tests including:

- tests for mononucleosis
- a throat discharge bacterial culture
- a blood bacterial culture.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka
