I am 36, female. Lower abdomen feels squishy but is getting bigger. I also have pain in reproductive area sometimes dull ache, twinges and the pain goes down my thigh and leg. This is worse during the night. I feel very tired... And my most recent bloods came back with low iron stores. Not sure why this pain is but is causing discomfort. Hi,

The pain that goes from back to the thighs and down to the legs is most probably due to nerve compression at lower lumbar vertebrae and the cause can be found by clinical examination as well as by MRI of the lower spine. This allows to find the cause and have a plan of proper management. The pain and bloating in lower abdomen can be due to many reasons and you have a feeling of getting pregnant which you may not be can be due to various causes. Say, like pelvic inflammatory disease, cystitis, tubo-ovarian inflammation, colitis and so on.

Hence, tests of urine and stool too are important as the blood tests have already been done. Get ultrasound of abdomen to find the cause, may need an internal examination by a gynecologist including per-speculum examination, Pap smear and treatment as needed. Lower pelvic pain go to the lower back but does not go down to the legs, hence both causes mentioned.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

You have feeling of a swollen abdomen. Sometimes, you feel like being pregnant with your organs being pushed up to your ribs. Bloating may be indicative of gastritis, GERD, IBS, etc. You can take ranitidine or pantaprazole, one stat only when needed for relief. If obese, do regular walking in the morning and evening. Avoid taking junk food. Take well cooked home made cereals, lean meat, veggies, fruits, berries, stay well hydrated and take plenty of fiber.

Avoid constipation, take laxatives at bed time for a better bowel movement and hence relief. You are feeling tired because of low Hb% in your blood and hence generalized weakness. Take iron, calcium & protein rich food while avoiding trans fat, full fat dairy products, high carb food, etc.

If you are sexually active and not on any birth control pills/device than you are suggested to get a pregnancy test done to rule out pregnancy(ectopic pregnancy).

Pain in the reproductive organ radiating to the thigh and leg may be indicative of pudendal neuralgia. It may be indicative of sciatica. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP / OBGYN. Get all required blood tests, investigations (MRI) done. Get treated at the earliest. You will be given conservative treatment (muscle relaxants), physical therapy and lifestyle changes. Don't do squats or cycle, it may make neuralgia worse. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
