What Causes Swelling On The Left Foot?

cough for 5 days, went to urgent care they said it was just a virus. but now the bottom of my left foot is swelling.-never happened before may not be related. it itches and you can feel fluid on my heel. no other signs of allergic reaction to anything. haven t taken any meds today.

Hi,

You are having one side foot swelling with itching. So you have to rule out any insect bite induced allergic swelling if suitable. For that short term steroid course can be prescribed. Hypothyroidism, hypoproteinemia, kidney disease etc., can be ruled out by serum TSH estimation, serum protein estimation and serum urea, creatinine estimation. You can consult a nearby physician for detailed evaluation.
