Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swelling In The Right Axilla After Taking Flu Vaccine?
Hello I had flu vaccine couple of years back and had rt axillary swelling and pain. Even after 2yrs my rt axilla is still enlarged. A diagnostic ultrasound a year back came back normal. A mammogram last month was normal. Should I be worried please advise
Presumably, the vaccines were injected into your shoulder, which triggered the reaction in the local glands. This is a relatively common reaction to the vaccination and usually does not require any attention.
There are many reasons that cause enlargement of the axillary gland. I suggest you make some examinations like abdominal ultrasound. X-ray of the chest, blood test. Take an appointment with your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
