General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM.

Swelling in feet with pain and visible veins around calf region is due to varicose veins resulting from deep vein thrombosis.
DVT means blood clot formation in deep veins of legs due to prolonged immobilty or prolonged standing.

If I were your treating doctor,I recommend,
-Investigations like doppler blood flow for peripheral blood circulation, blood coagulation factor studies, blood lipids.
-Local ice pack application for 15-30 minutes 3-4 times a day will help reduce swelling.
-Application of compression stockings and elevation while sitting or sleeping.
-Based on results of above investigations, anti coagulants like aspirin or warfarin may be started. You need to visit vascular surgeon for further management.
-Avoid standing for long time at one place.Do frequent ankle exercises.
-Report immediately if symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain is experienced.(indicative of impending pulmonary embolism)

Hope I answered your query.
Feel free to ask any more doubts.

Thanks.
