What Causes Swelling Between Fingers While Diagnosed With Arthritis?

I have a fluid type swelling between the two fingers next to the thumbs. This is on both hands. Am 67 yes old about 14st 12lb weight being mostly around middle (which started after HRT years ago). Have difficulty losing weight but have managed to lose 7lb recently. Have not been diagnosed with arthritis but do have some swelling sometimes in middle finger of right hand. Do have joint pain in arms and knees on occasions.

Hello,

Probable causes of swelling between your fingers could be Bouchard's nodes occur in rheumatoid arthritis, ganglion cyst, rheumatoid nodules, or Heberdon's nodules. You seem to be suffering from arthritis of joints. To arrive at a specific diagnosis, we need to examine your joints and few tests like serum RA factor, CRP, and X-rays of joints are necessary. Please do consult a rheumatologist or an orthopedic surgeon for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
