What Causes Swelling Around Labia Majora?

Hi there, i have just noticed that the left side of my labia majora/ pelvic floor is quite swollen and soft. It isnt painful. I dont think there are any lumps as such underneath the swelling. Do you have any ideas what this could be? I have been doing a new exercise regime including lots of squats this week...?

Hi,

I can understand your concern. As the swelling is generalized around labia majora and there are no lumps around/beneath it in absence of pain, it could be due to lot of touching of your clothes in the area while doing squats. Try switching to cotton underpants or pants while exercising or doing squats for a few days and this should disappear on its own.

However, if you develop pain or itching around area, it could be allergies or infection of the area which would need medicines for cure. So if you develop any other symptom, visit a physician or gynecologist for the examination and further investigations.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
