What Causes Swelling And Tenderness Of Testicle After Inserting Gold Markers?

Hi. I had gold markers inserted 3 days ago and the following day I noted swelling and tenderness in my testicle, spermatic cord and right inguinal area. No dysuria or frequency and no pain on walking. Pain moderate on palpation of testicle and when bending down to pick up something on the floor. I have no temp and am allergic to penicillin and sulfas. Is this a complication of placing gold markers? I am to have radiation starting in one month for adenocarcinoma of the prostate found at TURP.

Hi,Dear,Thanks for your query to HCM.
Dear I read your query and reviewed it with context to your query facts.
I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.

Based on the facts of your query, you seem to suffer from-
Orchitis/funiculitis/ causing right inguinal area tender swelling.
It could be just a reactive inflammation to Gold Markers placed in your prostate or could be due to the subacute infection of the prostate and surrounding tissue/ or could be damage to the vessels causing hematoma with tissue swelling and infection of it.As the antibiotics are given to cover such infection, fever and chills in next 2 weeks time needs to be observed before giving further treatment.
Remedy-
Wait and watch-for the body response to clearly indicate the infection by chills and fever. and treat it if it is proved.
Do USG OF the prostate in such a case to assess the prostatitis extent and to plan need for further antibiotic treatment..
Anti-inflammatory+Tab Chymoral Forte+would help resolve non-infective cases.
AS the pain is moderate type, this could be from procedural trauma to vessels or the reactive edema causing the subacute infection in your case.
So wait and watch in your case with anti-inflammatory with antibiotics after USG prostate.

Hope this would help you to reduce worry with your problem.
Take care and wish you to recover fast and Live healthy.

Hope this reply would help you to plan further treatment with your family and specialist doctors there.

Welcome for any further query in this regard.

Good Day!!
