What Causes Swelling And Patches At The Back Of Throat?
Hi, this is going to sound funny, but my throat was itchy 2 days ago & when I checked it out it looked as though the right side had "dropped" down, and looks slightly swollen? It's not sore, nor is it sore to swallow. There are a few while stringy like patches on the back of my throat too?!?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....
As per your complain it seems that you have a Strep throat along with Tonsillitis which is a bacterial throat infection as stringy patches which are probably pus pockets occurs in case of bacterial[ Streptococcus] infection.. You can take Augmentin 625 mg three times a day for 5 days, Pantoprazole 40mg once in the morning empty stomach and chewable vitamin C tablet one to two tablet daily for relief.. Do warm saline and chlorhexidine gargles for relief.. Avoid spicy and hard foods and drink plenty of water..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
