What Causes Swelling And Pain Between Vagina And Anus?
The area between my vagina and anus is hard and swollen and painful tender ..really uncomfortable..why would this happen? There are also a few bumps like underdeveloped pimples..just bumps no head. From shaving down there maybe? Or not cleaning good enough after sex? I m just hoping it s not std related..help?
The region in speaking is the perineum and is extremely sensitive. I have even come across cases who have reported to me with sensitivity caused due to the husbands beard coming in contact with the partners perineum.
But as mentioned by you, there are minor bumps; this presentation will have to be investigated for herpes and a yeast infection as well. But once these are ruled out, we can assume the same to be due to friction. Not washing your genitalia after sexual intercourse can leave the region damp and vulnerable to the growth of fungus, which can result in the yeast infection.
In the meantime, keep the region dry and clean and try taking sitz baths with epsom salt.
Best wishes.
