What Causes Swelling And Numbness Of Upper Lip After Cigar Smoking?

I have smoked cigars for about 5 years. I normally smoke 1 per week with no problems. I just got a bundle of factory seconds and fired one up. After a few puffs my upper lip swelled up and feels numb. I dont have any other symptoms. Needless to say I definitely wont be finishing this cigar. I took a Benadryl. Should I be worried? If any other symptoms develop I will call 911.

Can understand your concern..

As per your complain you have got allergic reaction on your lip after smoking cigar by any of the chemicals present in it..

As you said it is factory seconds it clearly shows it had some defect so that it is rejected to be sent to a brand store and consuming a rejected thing itself is harmful attempt for your body..

Taking benadryl can be helpful as it is an anti histamine and has an anti allergic action..

You should immediately discard the cigarettes and keep away from other cigars and cigerattes as heat, smoke and chemicals can further be harmful in allergic conditions..

Eat health and nutritious food..

Drink plenty of water to keep yourself well hydrated..
