What Causes Swelling And Hardness In Knee And Thighs For A Varicose Vein Patient?

My mom (53 years) has vericose veins since almost 20 years. Since last 5-6 years her knee area and lower thigh region is hard and swollen. We would like to know what could be the cause of it and which doctor should we consult. We consulted an orthopedic and he said this is not in his perview.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Your knee pain could be arthritic, traumatic or hemorrhagic, for which you need to visit an orthopaedician only.

As far as varicose veins is considered it should be taken care of by surgeon either ctvs or plastic surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
