General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the angioplasty procedure per se is not responsible for high BP or blood sugar. There can be various reasons for such presentation like:
- Lapse in the intake of anti hypertensive or anti-diabetic medication
- Dietary changes with high sodium and carbohydrates or sugary items
- Severe stress
- Post traumatic effect of procedure thoughts
- Changes in the dosage of previously running medications

Kindly discuss the issue with his treating cardiologist for best assistance. Till that time, following measures will help him:
- Plenty of liquids to maintain hydration
- Balanced nutritious diet with avoidance of salt, spices, junk items, dairy fat
- Avoid stress and anxiety
- No active or passive smoking
- Diet devoid of carbohydrates and rich in whole grains, cereals, pulses
- Maintain proper sound uninterrupted sleep of 7 hours
- Regular walking, meditations and YOGA
- Avoid any strenuous activities
- Continue all of the currently prescribed medications as per the discharge case record

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
