What Causes Sudden Weight Gain While On Medications For Weight Loss?

I have been taking topamax 2oo mg and concerta 36mg for 18 months for weight loss i lost weight and was able to control my carbohydrate cravings for 6 months but for the rest of the time i maintained my weight until the past 2 months I have gained 15 lbs . do you think I should ask my physician for an increase in the dose.

Hi,

You are on Topamax which is an anti-epileptic and Concerta (Methylphenidate) which is a central nervous system stimulant mostly used for ADHD. Noticeable side effect for Topamax is depression in less than one percent people. My best advice to lose weight is diet. Consult a Nutrition expert for proper diet for healthy weight loss. Every drug has certain side effects which are unnecessary. Maintain appropriate diet and good physical activity to be fit.
