What Causes Sudden Nasal Bleeding And Dizziness?

I had a bloody nose for no reason 2 times yesterday. Today I just had a quick dizzy spell where I was staring at my computer and had to put my head down. I also have quick sharp pains on my left side lower back. I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and just want to be sure that I have nothing to worry about. just weird how everything is happening the past 2 days.... Deborah_h

Hi Deborah,

I understand your concern.

Bloody nose for no reason 2 times yesterday and dizzy spell today are indicating possible oscillations in blood pressure (bp). I advise to monitor your bp and record the results for future reference.

Next, I advise to get checked by your physician before going for vacation to make sure these episodes won't happen again.

You need to run a series of diagnostic tests to rule out cardiovascular problems (cardiac check up: ECG, echocardiogram, blood electrolytes, lipid profile; complete blood count) and X-ray of the neck to rule out spondyloarthrosis.

For the moment, I advise to:
- keep well hydrated
- avoid sharp or fast movements of the head
- measure your bp and record the results
