Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an asthma attack few days back. That was the first time i had to go to hospital to treat it. When i first went there, my bp was 140/90 .. after what ever is done with nebulizer it was 130/80. I dont have usual high blood pressures.. is this normal for bp to rise? Ive read on somethings that bp lowers...
I would like to tell you that a Bp of 140/90 is considered to be normal. There is no need of any medicine for your BP rather I would like to suggest you to maintain healthy lifestyle habits like daily morning walks, low salt diet, no smoking, avoiding junk food. Anxiety is one of the most common reason for sudden rise in BP. Yes when a attack of asthma happen it constricts our airways making breathing laboured and difficult which stimulates the sympathetic system of our body leading to some increase in BP and heart rate.
wish you good health
