32 year old white male. Married w/ (2) kids. 6ft tall, 200 lbs. Work out 5-6 times per week. Saturday evening, i m playing with my kids on the carpet floor. My wife is cooking dinner in the kitchen. On my hands and knees, I fall backwards and suddenly fee both legs go num (like a charlie horse). It works its way all the way up my body in 2-3 seconds and i m OUT like a light. (im told) arms and legs stiff, foaming at the mouth, eyes rolled back, very pale and blue. I came back to life on the floor with fire fighters and paramedics hovering over me. They had me hooked up checking for a heart attack I think. They put me on a rolling bed and into an ambulance. At the emergency room, they did an MRI and checked blood. Everything checked out and looked good. Blood pressure was a little high, but probably from stress/anxiety. By the time I hit the ambulance I was answering questions speaking normally. My balance was a little off, but mostly normal. My wife says right before she heard the thump on the floor, I yelled (KINSLEY ARE YOU OK??) My daughter had hit her head someone. She claims she hit me in the neck before I hit the ground, but doesn t really remember. They released me from the emergency room after (2) hours: diagnosis = Syncope; fainting: Vagal reaction. Does this seem correct? how does this explain the stiffening of my legs and immediate unconsciousness, foaming at the mouth, and pale skin? what could possibly be going on and what sort of doctor should I see?
