What Causes Sudden Dizziness While On Verapamil And Hydrochlorothiazide?

I have been experiencing symptoms of sudden dizziness off an on while jus being at home. I take vitamins; verapamil 240mg, hydrochlorathiazide 25mg an losartan (potassium). I was decorating home today an got real dizzy. I told my doctor about vitamins but he says it’s not that. Someone told me it could be dehydration yet I only feel very thirsty at night an drink 1 bottle of water an not too much during day, when I got dizzy I sat down an drank water an felt better.

Hi,
I guess the problem of dizziness must be during sitting up or standing from sleeping position.
You are on verapamil 240 mg and hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg. Both the drugs can cause dizziness because of their mechanism of action. As you feel very thirsty, suggests of mild to moderate dehydration which may be due to hydrochlorothiazide. I can't suggest to reduce the dose of these drugs because of unawareness of your disease condition. But yes you can avoid of diziness episodes by drinking simple water or water with sugar and salt.

Can you describe for what all these treatments are given? or You can ask your physician to reduce the dose of one both the drugs based on your condition.
