What Causes Stiffness In Fingers In A Patient With Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma?

I have possible carpal tunnel and osteoarthritis. My finger are swollen all the time and now I find my fingers often turn blue for short periods. I have recently had half my thyroid removed and will have the other half in early august as Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma was found in one of the growths that was removed on the rt side of the thyroid. The curious thing about my fingers is I have lots of stiffness but no pain. I wondered if it is mostly the arthritis and if there could be any connection to my thyroid. Is there any exercise I could do help? I have seen orthopedic doctor but am not convinced I want surgery

Hello,

Discoloration may suggest that vascular insufficiency. Other possible causes are like carpal tunnel syndrome or para neoplastic syndrome or peripheral neuropathy. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Pregabalin m 75 for two weeks after food. If the symptoms not improved get it done colour Doppler, X-ray of the joint and nerve conduction study. Please review the report or consult with your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
