What Causes Spreading Rash With Pimples Near Vaginal Area?
Hi. A few days ago I noticed that what I thought to be chafing on the inside of my inner thigh near the vaginal area. It was itching so I put some desitin and powder on it in hopes that it would subside. It doesn t seem to be getting any better and although it doesn t seem to be getting worse too bad, it does itch and it appears it may be spreading a little but just on the one side. The worse part of the rash has purple like pimples. It doesn t seem to be inside the vagina and is only on the right side. Is there any idea of what this may be or what I can take over the counter to alleviate it? Thank you!
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns . The rashes which are itchy and spreading in the genital area is likely to be fungal infection which is known as tinea cruris. I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist to get examined properly and treated accordingly, as over the counter medications cannot treat it completely. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
