What Causes Spotting With Mucus And Delayed Periods?

My hubby and I are trying to conceive. I ve been tracking my ovulation and I peaked on July 30th (which we were intimant the 30th, 31st & Aug 1st). My period is pretty regular and (between 29-30 days) and I was due to get my next period on Tuesday Aug 12th..I sti have not gotten it and test neg for a pregnancy test this morning. I have had a lot of the same symptoms I had with my first child; heartburn, gas, tiredness, headaches, ect..and honestly I jus feel like my body is prepping for something. My question is, when I went to the bathroom this afternoon I had experience a very small amount of red blood in some mucus when I peed. The mucus was clear and stretchy with one end with red blood on it. No blood though when I wiped. I m so confused? Am I pregnant or am I getting my period now? I ve never had this before. Normally before my period it s a brownish pink. I m kind of feeling discouraged because we were really hoping for a pregnancy! Any help would be fantastic! Thanks!

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Please do not get disappointed since it may be too early to detect through a home pregnancy test. HPTs read well when performed 3-7 days after the missed period with a fresh early morning sample of urine. You can get the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres now to confirm/exclude pregnancy. A trans-vaginal sonogram done a week later will help to clarify the situation and further management can be planned accordingly. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
