Hi,

Ovarian cyst of 1.8 cm is not that much critical usually, if:

-It it is a follicular cyst grown during a regular menstrual period.
-It is hemorrhagic cyst after rupture of ovarian follicle.
-Contains clear fluid. It should be evaluated, if:
-It is endometriotic cyst
-Dermoid cyst
-In case of possible ectopic pregnancy etc.

The menstrual period between 21 to 35 days can be considered as normal usually. If your cycle length is less than 20 days and if the intermenstrual spotting persists, you may need evaluation.

These symptoms can be seen in conditions like:

-Reproductive or thyroid hormonal imbalance
-Structural causes like fibroids, polyps, cervical erosion, etc.

By clinical examination and with investigations like ultrasound, thyroid profile, etc, the possible cause of the problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri SR
