What Causes Spotting Before Periods?

hello ive had my mirena for 2 yrs now. and regular periods. but this month my period has not came im cramping and feeling like im going to throw up. im really worried that my period has not came yet and it usually comes in the beginning of each month. could it come at the end instead? and if so what date because its already the 27. I spotted about a 2 weeks ago just a little when i wiped myself... but other than that nothing.
