What Causes Sore Throat With A Painful Spot Causing Difficulty Swallowing?

I woke up this morning to a sore throat on one spot in the right part of my throat. It hurt so bad to swallow, and it eventually led me to having an ear ache. It went away, although it is just a little sore now, and I just had a terrible fever. Can you please tell me what this could be?

Hi,

I cannot say in your particular case without seeing you. AND, it is common to have bacterial infections in the sinuses that spread locally to the ear and to the throat. These vary with time of day and position. There can be viral infections. These do not typically cause as much purulence as bacterial ones. and they can spread to the ears and sinuses.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
