What Causes Sore Throat, Frequent Headaches And Stomach Pain Post A Fundoplication?

Hi, I have physical symptoms of sore throat, frequent headaches, dry cough, stomach ache (similar to acid reflux) but I had a fundoplication in 2005. In addition, I have frequently have aching wrist and ankle joints. With recent blood tests, I have high calcium (10.8) & high Creatin. Within the past two months I have had an EKG (normal) bone marrow biopsy (normal) thyroid ultrasound and scan (the one with injection) all normal. Any other ideas?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of fundoplication in 2005, now the symptoms of sore throat, headache, dry cough, stomach ache, aching wrists and ankles. Blood shows high calcium, creatinine. Other tests like EKG, bone marrow biopsy, thyroid ultrasound and scan are normal.
This indicates that the surgery which was done so long ago may not be related to fundoplication unless there is reflux of acid on regular basis.
This can be proved by the following:
First of all to go for upper GI endoscopy to see the effects of fundoplication or see if everything here is normal or not.
Secondly, you have to go for clinical evaluation and examination and correlation between the clinical findings and the lab tests to see the diagnosis and have proper treatment.
Another opinion of your Doctor and reference for an ENT May be helpful to find the causes of sore throat, headache and dry cough, whether due to local nose, sinus or throat problems or something else and to give you the correct diagnosis and treatment.
