Hi, I had a surgical termination at 9 weeks a little over a week ago. However I still have large sore breasts some nausea and I keep feeling what feel like movements in my abdomen area. I still have a metallic taste in my mouth. I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks but I had a terrible strain of morning sickness which was making me so ill I had to terminate but I wish I didn t have to . I have a 6 & 7 year old and I was struggeling to take care of them. But could it be possible there were two babies & one was missed at my 8 week scan? Coz I still feel pregnant but my symptoms are milder. I have repeated a test that was positive but I think I tested to soon coz I now know I need to wait 3-4 weeks but I have spoke to my gp about my concerns and I don t feel they are taking me seriously. Perhaps I m having a phantom pregnanc. I m so confused it s constantly playing on my mind
Hello, I have gone through the query and understood your concern. Your symptoms are due to the persistent beta-hCG levels in the blood. The hormone titres fall slowly in 2-3 weeks after the abortion. It is unlikely to miss details inside the uterus if a trans-vaginal sonogram is done. A follow up sonogram should be done after another week to exclude retained products. Pregnancy test can read positive up to 3 weeks. Do not worry, you are not having any phantom pregnancy. Hope this helps.
